Project Risk Management

Projects are Risky

All Projects are unique. They typically differ in project scope, project teams and the environment in which they are executed. As a consequence, projects are risky. Again and again, project objectives cannot be met. The budget may be overrun, the timeline may not be kept or the scope of the project can not be delivered in full or in the expected quality. This can be frustrating. And it can be avoided! This is why proactive Project Risk Management is so important.

PRISK Consulting GmbH has developed a specialized approach for Project Risk Management. This approach helps identify risks to the project objectives early and most of all efficiently.  The Approach leads to feasible mitigation strategies that will improve the achievement of the project objectives. The following slide pack explains the approach and the benefits.

Our Project Risk Management Approach

In our reviews we focus on individual interviews of the project team members. This allows us to speak openly. In individual interviews we can identify the project status and projects risks from different perspectives. Furthermore, we can identify inconsistencies by comparing the input received from different team members.

Before we prepare our report we review the findings with project management. Typically, we can identify a range of quick fixes that can be addressed right away. Also, we want to avoid any misunderstandings about the issues that were raised.

Finally, we prepare the report which focuses on the project status, on the identified risks and the measures to appropriately manage these risks. We take great care to point out the risks for the project objectives in a transparent fashion and find a constructive approach for the mitigating measures. This helps us work out a report that helps the project sponsors and project management improve the success of the project.
